Audio for games
Sound Design
Footsteps, creatures, engines, the hum of an empty corridor. Here is my latest showreel.
What I do
Sound design is my full-time job. I work on a range of PlayStation projects, where I create the in-game audio and put it into the game: sound design, mixing, mastering, and working closely with programmers to build the audio systems in Unity and Unreal Engine.
My home base is Reaper, and I know Studio One well too.
How I work
- 01
Making the sounds. My own field recordings, libraries like Sonniss and Boom Library, and synthesis in Phase Plant.
- 02
Shaping them. Careful editing in iZotope RX, then layering everything together in Reaper.
- 03
Making them alive. Dynamic audio systems built in FMOD Studio.
- 04
Putting them in the game. Integration into the engine, then testing and tweaking until it feels right.
